Checking function of brakes

If pressure points are not clearly perceptible:

ATTENTION Work on brake system not in compliance with correct procedure

Risk to operational reliability of the brake system

WARNING Brake-pad thickness less than permissible minimum

Diminished braking effect, damage to the brakes

 

Check rear brake pad thickness

If the chamfer is no longer visible:

Checking brake-fluid level, front brakes

WARNING Not enough brake fluid in brake fluid reservoir

Considerably reduced braking power due to air in the brake system

NOTICE Wear of the brake pads causes the brake fluid level in the reservoir to sink.

Checking the brake-fluid level, rear brakes

Install the rear-wheel stand Set the height of the stand 3 so that it raises the rear wheel slightly off the ground. Ensure that the stand height is the same on the left and right, and secure the mount 3 on either side with bolts 1. Set the mounts 3 to the width of the rear wheel swinging arm 4 and secure using clamping bolts 2. Ensure you do not cover the axle 5. Position the rear-wheel stand 6.
